Oral mucosal diseases

The oral mucosa is the mucous membrane lining the inside of the mouth and can be affected by both benign and malign pathologies.

Benign mucosal diseases may be of the inflammatory, traumatic or infectious type. At times they appear after taking drugs or in physiological situations, such as pregnancy epulis.

Malign oral mucosal lesions or oral cancer are much more frequent than they appear to be and are directly related to alcohol and tobacco. For this reason, any lesion that lasts more than 15 days must be assessed by a specialist.

Ergodinámica Clínica’s Maxillofacial Unit has a team of specialists with extensive experience in the field of early detection and treatment of precancerous and cancerous mouth lesions, facilitating their identification based on the use of the latest scientific advances in diagnostic and therapeutic means.
